2.9. Nautilus files browser

Nautilus is installed by default.

2.9.1. Configuration

  • Toggle View = List

    gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences default-folder-viewer 'list-view'
    

Customize the settings using the preferences dialog or the command line:

  • Views ‣ List View ‣ Allow folders to be expanded = True

    gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.list-view use-tree-view true
    
  • Behavior ‣ Link Creation ‣ Show action to create symbolic links = True

    gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences show-create-link true
    
  • Search & Preview ‣ Search = All locations

    gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences recursive-search 'always'
    
  • Search & Preview ‣ Thumbnails = All files

    gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences show-image-thumbnails 'always'
    

2.9.2. Extensions

Install some extensions:
